Always On Cue Dog Training ®

About Me

Hi, I’m Karen George, founder of Always On Cue Dog Training® and Heart and Soul Dog Breeding Inc. For over 17 years, I’ve dedicated my life to helping dogs and their families build trust, confidence, and lasting bonds.

I started as a breeder and rescue volunteer for English Mastiffs and Great Pyrenees, which grew into a passion for training. Today, I specialize in service dog training—for mobility, PTSD, autism, hearing, and medical alerts—as well as behavior and obedience work for family dogs.

Using the NePoPo® system and a relationship-based approach, I focus on clear communication, structure, and understanding. Whether guiding a new puppy or helping a service dog reach its full potential, my goal is simple: to create harmony between dogs and the people who love them.

Mission Statement

Our Mission

At Always On Cue, our mission is to raise and train well-balanced, purpose-bred Golden Retrievers that strengthen the bond between dogs and the people who rely on them—whether as family companions or working partners. Through our Hero Service Dog Program of Heart and Soul Dog Breeding, Inc., we also help provide carefully selected, ethically bred, and professionally trained service dogs for First Responders and Healthcare Providers disabled by illness or injury, at no cost to the recipient. Together, our breeding, training, and outreach aim to support both everyday pet owners and heroes in need of life-changing service dogs.

Hero Service Program

About

The Hero Service Dog Program of Always on Cue provides ethically bred, health-tested Golden Retrievers as fully trained service dogs for First Responders and Healthcare Providers who have been disabled by illness or injury. There is no cost to the recipient for the dog or any training.

Our Purpose

We carefully breed long-lived Golden Retrievers with stable temperaments and the energy and focus needed for task-trained service work. Each dog is selected, raised, and trained to help restore independence, confidence, and daily function for the handler they will one day serve.

How the Program Works

  • Phase One – Breeding & Evaluation
Puppies from Heart and Soul Dog Breeding are raised under high welfare and health standards, then temperament-tested around seven weeks for service dog potential.

  • Phase Two – Foundation Training
From eight weeks to about six months, selected puppies begin basic obedience, manners, and socialization under the guidance of our Training Director, staff, and volunteers.

  • Phase Three – Matching & Task Work
Qualified First Responders and Healthcare Providers apply, are matched with a suitable dog, and begin specialized task training together in Gainesville/Alachua County, FL.

  • Phase Four – Team Training & Certification Prep
Dog and handler complete extensive team training in real-world settings to prepare for certification and daily life as a working team.

Lifelong Support & Education

We provide ongoing follow-up training, recertification, and guidance for every Hero Service Dog team at no cost to the client. We also offer community education on service dogs, disability awareness, and handler rights, funded through donations, grants, and community support.
